Park Hyatt Tokyo - Renovation

Hello again! I subscribe to a Monocle magazine and in my most recent issue there is an article about the Park Hyatt Tokyo including some history and stories and how it was closed this year for a major renovation job, reopening again late 2025. Included in the article are some fantastic photos. Due t...

Re: I am Mista Bobbu-San!

Ha ha...Thanks! I found the orange cammo shirt on Amazon last year. I recently checked to see if I can get a few more but they no longer have it (in this specific style, with the black collar, etc. I was at the Cherry Blossom Festival for two days and was sadly disappointed not a single person recog...

I am Mista Bobbu-San!

These past two weekends San Francisco Japantown held its annual Cherry Blossom Festival. It's the biggest event of the year for Japantown. Althought it doesn't have anything to do with cherry blossoms, many people go dressed in cosplay. I went dressed as....yep, you gues it, Mr. Bob Harris!!

I am still awake.

I probably ever will be.

....me too....the later it gets the more awake I am, lost and indulging in this after dark world, dreaming up next adventures.

Oh, traveling before smartphones/iphones...yes, these devices make traveling so much more convenient and easy now, but there definitely is some nostalgia over the old way of doing things. Also...physically going to the mall for my Christmas shopping! ha ha ha.

I did... and still do have this wonderful friend. I'm in a marriage and raising kids in the meantime, he's still single. Who knows maybe one day. Intellectually, which seems to be the most important, he remains unparalleled to me. http://www.weareawake.org/litforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1021&p=9679#p...

Re: Park Hyatt Room Number?

Hi all! Well, as life does, several things have gotten in the way of making this work for the 20th anniversary. I have a new goal, and that will be to make it for the 25th anniversary. A trip like this may very well be a once in a lifetime event, and I want to make sure I can do it “right”, and at ...

Re: Happy 20th Anniversary LIT!!

Great! Thanks for remembering and posting! Regarding the Suntory/Keanu reference , I should mention that Keanu Reeves has always had a tie-in with LiT because he co-starred with Kelly in Midnight Velocity in the LiT story. He never makes a physical appearance but is mentioned in the script and is pl...

Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

I don't know how many of you have or use Netflix, but my experience has been that the "really good" movies tend not to be on there and they really are pushing more original content than anything else. On to of that, the same mediocre movies they push are listed in multiple categories. But recently L...

Re: Shawn Mendes music video tribute to LIT!!! Lost In Japan

Wow, this is crazy amazing! I've never listened to his music before (I'm hopelessly out of touch with current pop culture, and by current, really anything wthin the past 20-25 years!), the only reason why I even know the name is because a couple years back I saw his name on a marquee in front of an ...

The Early 2000's

This year is LiT's 20th anniverssary which is cause for great celebration and reflection. I've always known that my love of LiT isn't necessarily just limited to LiT but also to that time and space....the early 2000's. I wonder how many of you all share in that connection. It was to me, a great time...

Re: It's Suntory Time!

I'm big fan of Keanu so I'm just going through in another a-bit-of-a-stretch tie in. There used to be a Japanese restaurant inside the San Francisco Japantown Mall called Fuku Sushi and in their display case was an autographed signture from Keanu during one of his visits. So certainly not having to ...

It's Suntory Time!

Although not directly relating to the LiT movie, there are certainly enough tie-in’s in this article: https://robbreport.com/food-drink/spirits/house-of-suntory-yamazaki-hakushu-keanu-reeves-sophia-coppola-1234847426/ Suntory, Sophia….I think that’s more than enough of a tie-in! Not to mention, the ...

Like any experience, be it a place, a song, a person, a food, etc., nothing will ever beat that first time. But to be honest, it’s been so many years, I can’t barely remember what it was like the first time I watched LiT :(
