To me, what is interesting about this scene is the closeup of the woman putting her hand in the man's. To me it's a powerful affirmation of something good...it's triumphant. These two people were just sort of wading around in the muck, and by the end of the movie they felt so alive and aware of the good things life has to offer. It hit me like a good explosion.

I agree with JM. The song works great where it is. The lyrics may or may not parallel the storyline.
