I *completely* agree with Pockets' statement about how it's strangely lacking intimacy for a young marriage. There was always something "off" about their relationship to me, and Pocket nailed it right on the head. So thank you. And, whether or not Bob and wife still love each other, I don't ever wan...

"Ghost World" is a *great* movie! I think a LIT/Ghost World double-feature would be great to watch.

Wow...*great* post! I have thought about the duality of the "More Than This" lyrics before, but you summed it up perfectly. :)

I am going to go on record as saying that, since I am not a football fan, I have *never* wore one of those huge orange foam cheeseheads. Ever! And any photo evidence against that is obviously Photoshopped. :) And, personally, I love both Illinois and Chicago. I wish I would get to Chicago more often...

I've been trying to think of an arguement against your post, Pockets, but...uh, I can't come up with one. You're pretty much right, and that makes me (as a guy) feel a bit shallow. :(

Wow...I really like this post. I am a *HUGE* believer in coincidence/synchronicity/fate, and I very much see it in action in this film. There is someone on the other side of the world who I am very connected to, and the odds of us ever meeting and the way we met always feels to me like one of those ...

Happy ending or depressing ending, and what it says about us

This is one of the things that really, really fascinates me about this movie. This is my all-time favorite movie, so I really wanted my girlfriend to watch it. She watched it, and said that she didn't care for it because the ending was so utterly depressing. Bob goes back to his loveless marriage an...

Ok, a couple of my favorites. 1.) First and foremost, Charlotte singing "Brass In Pocket". My god. I utterly fell in love with Charlotte/Scarlett the first time I saw this scene. She is so utterly adorable. Especially the little "sidestep" thing with her shoulders. Gah! I love her! 2.) The bed discu...

My personal opinion is that Charlotte and John's marriage won't last. She will become more confident in herself (due in no small part to Bob), and will realize that she can do better, either with someone else or on her own. Although, I do feel that Bob will remain in his loveless marriage, mostly be...

Although I haven't had anything like the situation in LIT, I do have a very, very, very dear friend who lives on the other side of the world, whom I've never met, and who loves LIT just as much as I do. It's a long story how we met (online, of course), but I consider her my "Charlotte" and she consi...

I would *guess* that I have seen the movie about 25 or so times. I try to watch it at least once a month, but when I am cleaning or doing chores at home, I like to have it playing on the tv in the background. Sometimes I will sit and watch it if it's one of my favorite scenes (mainly, the karaoke sc...
