Scarlett's shampoo commercials
I just saw a very blonde-looking Scarlett doing some shampoo commercial on television here in Canada. Not good. Of course, I like to see her on any occasion but this is overexposure. She's on the way to megastardom but it hopefully won't turn into tackiness at the same time. I wonder if I've been gu...

Check it out. She's great. He's great. It's great.
Very wistful.

Bill Murray at a St Andrews party...life imitating art?
I've reposted this since the last attempt disappeared... Bill Murray turns fiction into fact by pitching up at students' party in St Andrews with a new blonde friend – and then doing the dishes By Jonathan Wynne-Jones (Filed: 15/10/2006) In the Oscar-winning film Lost in Translation, Bill Murray fam...

Yes, she knew obviously. I just thought it wasn't handled at all when they first met. To me, that's a script weakness because it seems unrealistic. She knows the guy is a big movie star and says nothing. I don't think so. She could have said something quickly unfawning and got on with the normal con...

Agree that the scenes they are together are magical. I agree with all your points except maybe the lip my stocking. Bob's wincing facial expression when she goes into contortions on the floor is hilarious to me still. I'm still hoping for a sequel. Better yet -- a television series. Now that's sacri...

Yeah I skip over that one too. It's not that funny really. That and the golf scene are trying to set the mood. Because the movie is low key, upon repeated viewings, these scenes aren't as important because you already know the mood. Also when Charlotte goes on her hotel wanderings and stumbles onto ...

Thanks Bob-san. Thanks for keeping this site going for all us LIT addicts. It definitely beats methadone. I realize I may be just about the last person on Earth to have seen LIT. I had friends who told me to see it when it came out but for some reason I never got around to it. Better late than never.

I've been thinking about this since I first saw the movie a couple weeks ago. I guess a few of those fleeting mass transit-type encounters that Pitman described but nothing really stood out. Until now. I was going over my astrology files (yeah, sorry -- I like to indulge my post-rational side every ...

Thank you!!! That is what he says. I just played it again and it's quite clear. I wonder why I couldn't hear it before. Wow -- that definitely shows how out of favour his relationship has become. And his opening comments about how great the burgundy is. This sounds like he's just making conversation...

No way their marriage lasts. Bob tells Charlotte how great his marriage was in the beginning. They had a great time while he was doing the movies. Any chance that Charlotte and John are experiencing anything like that? Not a chance. She's growing apart from him. This is another reason why Charlotte ...

I think it's a mistake that was left in because Sofia made sense of it post facto. When Charlotte says "stay here with me" with her face blurry and out of focus, it's as if she's not really there somehow, like a ghost. That undercuts the likelihood of the offer coming to pass. The blurriness makes t...

What does Bob say to Lydia as he's hanging up the phone?
Sorry folks but this is bugging me. When Bob talks to Lydia after his big karaoke night out, he says something as he's hanging up the phone. The problem is the sound of him hanging up the phone blocks out what he's saying. I figure it's something to do with the fact that he said "I love you" to Lydi...

Yep -- I noticed that in my first viewing. It's a no-no when actors look in the camera. I figure Sofia left it in because the rest of the scene was so good. No point doing another take. I also think Charlotte's out of focus face in the close up a the bar after the fire alarm is another goof up that ...
