I keep a rotating collection on my hard drive. I'll post them occasionally. Some of them are too funny.

I read "Girl With a Pearl Earring," but skipped the movie because the book was just so quietly intense. I kept feeling like the Vermeers were teetering on the edge of disaster. It was like the family moved, or wished to move, at one speed and Johannes moved at another. Yet they stayed a family. This...

I read the book a while back, and it was so intense that I decided not to see the movie.

"The Sure Thing" is a Rob Reiner movie starring Jon Cusack and Daphne Zuniga. Cusack and Zuniga's budding relationship is fun to watch and there are some classic one-liners ("I was in Paris once with my wife. Boy, am I glad she's dead.")

My personal uneducated feeling is that there is and will be a full documentary on a "Criterion"-like "LiT" that will be released in a few years.

Man, you have to see the whole movie! If for no other reason, the music is fantastic. My TV is in the same room with my computer, so I'll put the movie on and sort of watch it out of the corner of my eye. Plus, if you get the DVD, you can watch the partial (I consider it partial) documentary and lis...

I'll tell you what...one of the best times to check out women is to go to the grocery store on a Saturday morning. That's when they just throw some clothes on and don't get made up and you can see exactly how a woman looks.

The less makeup she wears, the better she looks. She has a great face and doesn't need to hide it.

Lydia: is she responsible for Bob’s dissatisfaction? No, she didn't come across as being a great wife, but Bob made it clear that she was a good mother; maybe more interested in mothering than nurturing a marriage. Apparently their marriage cooled when the kids came. Bob could be as reponsible for t...

At this point in her life, she and her parents are probably doing their best to insure her financial security. I have no interest in seeing "The Island." I just don't watch movies like that unless I'm with someone who specifically wants to see it. I didn't like "In Good Company," and I didn't see "G...

You'll have a blast, Mike! The big change will be your becoming more independent (hopefully) and meeting and having a great time with a bunch of new friends. Remember what Dr. Johnson said: "If a man does not make new acquaintance as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man, ...
