a song I was curious about that i heard during the film one was the song that the lounge singer was singing (the second song). I remember it from a loooong time ago but I cant put a finger on it. if anyone knows let me know

I think the lounge singer's second song was Scarborough Fair (ARe you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme)

Since we're on this scene, why did everyone clap while Ms Sausalito was just getting started with the song?!

Gee..I don't remember them clapping at the beginning, just the end of it..when she thanked the crowd and said,"We're glad to be here. We're Saucilito." The timing was just compressed for story content.

It sounded like the beginning, but I think it was just a very cheesy arrangement, and they ended the song that way for dramatic effect. If the rest of the rendition was anything like that ending, it probably went on forever and they were relieved!
