that's what I mean, she admitted to it in an ironic way like "oh yeah we did" with a roll of the eyes and it was reported without the ironic contextjml98 wrote:well, don't quote me on this, but wasn't it scarlett herself that admitted to her little elevator adventure? why would she make up a rumor like that about her self...maybe she said it jokingly...i dunno, when i read it i got the impression that it was true, maybe i'm wrong

i never even heard of that.. it better not be true that would ruin my day for sure.. when i first saw Scarlett in LiT it was my introduction to her, essentially. a part of me will always want her to be just like Charlotte, alas it is not so.
I'd rather be a gear in a big, deterministic, physical machine than just some random swerving.

While we would all like to imagine Scarlett as the wonderful Charlotte that
she portrayed, we don't know what she is really like. I would guess that
as an actor, there a bits of her in each part she plays. But she is not those
people, she like everyone else is a flawed human being with both positive
and negative traits. As a Hollywood celebrity, those will be subjected to
not only more scrutiny but rumor and distortions as well. We don't really
know what is true or not but to me she seems more with it and together
at her age than the average bimbo hollywood actress. I would guess with
her you will not see fad diets, cosmetic surgery or any other of that other
crap. When her time is done I would bet that she retreats to a private
life to have a family and might come back for cameo roles in special
films the way people like Diane Keaton has done.
As fans of a celebrity, its always possible to love a person's work but not the person for whatever reason.
But it is also possible to appreciate them for who they are without judgement when the romantic
notion of them is stripped away by the media or whatever.
We'll see I suppose!

That is so, so true. Great job on that.. I know it'll change my opinion on a lot of things.. and I never did pick up on all those things you mentioned about Scarlett, and they're all true. I guess she's a lot closer to being Charlotte than most others out there...guest again wrote: that is the most grounded, rational, logical and decent response i've ever read on how to be a *good* fan Bravo!
