For those of you who don't live in the states, you need to know that we have our midterm elections coming up in early November. Despite the loud public outcry against negative campaign ads, we are being smothered by them. Some of them are not only negative, but are painfully dumb and excruciating to watch. One of the worst ads I've seen is for a spot on the Georgia Supreme Court. One of the candidates accuses the other of attempting to kill his own mother. I mean, come on! I feel sort of dirty after watching something like that.

"Congruous, is your ad in
this list?
Wouldn't it be great if all the ads were like that?"

That first ad was the one I was talking about (it accused him of threatening his sister, not his mother). That's just insane. It makes it impossible to have faith in any of these candidates.

Those negative ads all slamming each other give me a headache. As awful as it sounds, it makes me dread voting time because they air constantly and annoy me

It's times like these I'm glad I stopped watching TV.
Oh wait, it's all the time.

The two candidates I mentioned above had a debate last night and it was nasty. When it was over, they refused to shake hands and each called the other "despicable." All this over a Supreme Court seat. I wish the election would hurry up and get here before they convince all of us not to vote.

Revolting. Canadian politics are like a drunken levee. You should move up here.
