I've been noticing some posters are "Traveler", some have "Awake" and some have "Wide Awake". Is this based on how long you've been a member? How many posts you've posted?
I'm just curious.

Hi KK ! From the Forum Guidelines, I quote the following:
7) The post number counter has been removed to discourage "spam"
posts to increase the post count. Ranks are silly titles created just for
fun. Once your rank becomes Charlie Brown, if you want a custom
rank then just request it via email.
I have not seen anyone reach the mythical "Charlie Brown" status yet; even our most enthusiastic posters seem to be stalled at "Wide Awake". If you could have a custom rank, what would _yours_ say ? Keeping with the Buddhism theme, I think mine would be "Enlightened". Or, I might just opt for something silly, like "It's Suntory Time", or "Inaudible".

Isn't "inaudible" from [i:bf075a2a44]The White House Transcripts,[/i:bf075a2a44] editing by R.M. Nixon?"

Isn't "inaudible" from The White House Transcripts, editing by R.M. Nixon?
The only phrase that stuck in my mind from the Nixon transcripts was "expletive deleted". Actually, the Nixon tapes kinda follow the same rules as LiT: Where else could 18 1/2 minutes of silence say so much ?

I believe I made it so that ranks change every 25 to 50 to 100 posts
depending on the number.
If people want to make suggestions for new titles that would be great.
I ran out of ideas in the time I had setting it up but I can revisit it.

Edit:
Before the difference between Wide Awake and the next rank was 50 posts. I changed it to 25 however for those who have passed the mark so
far I don't see it changed. It may only work for people working up to
it. I added a few more also.

Thanks for the changes, Bob. "Lost In Jet Lag" was a good one.

I decided to lower the threshold for each rank and leading up to Charlie Brown given the lower post count in the forum in general given the narrow (but glorious!) nature of the subject matter.
There are going to suddenly be a lot more Charlie Brown's around!

you've reached the top rank with only just over 60 posts?!
im approaching 1000 on my forum, but then again it is more just friends chatting lol
i think Charlie Brown shoul be at least 100, but then again, the sooner i can get a custom rank the better!

i agree that Charlie Brown should be a bit higher, but then again this is a forum about a movie. It's not like an actor forum where, when he does new stuff and movies, theres more to talk about. It's hard to keep coming up with new, interesting things to say about a movie (and actually it seems more and more like the members are NOT talking about the movie and just random stuff) so while you often see members in other forums with thousands of posts, that would be very very very difficult to do here.
just my two cents

Uh oh not so fast Grasshopper!
You may be Charlie Brown but you cannot leave until you snatch the pebble from the hands of the Master and then you become Kwai Chang!

When I started the forum I wasnt sure how much traffic there would be so I put the top rank at 300 posts. After it became apparent this was a niche board with fewer (but quality over quantity!) posts I redid the ranks as noted earlier here to put more in but also reduced the highest to 150.
It seems now that even that is pretty high for this forum and in the spirit of change and fun I just reduced it again. If you look at the member list and the post count you'll get an idea of the activity here.
I recently added a new topic area for discussion of film in general but that hasn't taken off as of yet.

300!! wow, that would be hard. I think only jml would qualify for Charlie Brown.
It IS hard to generate discussion about a film. I guess it's a testament to the depth of LiT!!!! Sofia is a genius.
