Re: We're Going Back!!
Yes, I do hope to see some LiT spots....although, staying at the Park Hyatt is going to be completely out of the question. I stayed there during my first visit back in 2016 and it was EXPENSIVE then! Albeit, I had some credit card points I could use. With the recent renovations, the cost must be muc...

We're Going Back!!
I'm pleased to share with all you fellow insomniacs that we are finally returning to Japan! Air tickets have been booked for mid-February trip. It's been way too long. Our first trip was in the fall of 2016 and it blew our minds. Dare I say, it was life changing. We immediately returned the followin...

Oh don't you know it! I'm really hoping we can make it happen next year, hopefully early spring/late winter. Definitely want to go when the weather is still colder.

Ok, I've scanned the entire article. Its actually more photos than it is text. I use Flickr for my photos, so here's a private link to the album: . . . By our third and final night in the bar, a Christmas tree had gone up next to the band. Everytime I think of this I am reminded of the scene where ...

Yeah, I don't know anyone who has gone and came back and said it was bad. Everyone that's gone fell in love with it!

Re: As Japan’s economy adapts to a tourism boom, so does daily life
In the circle of people I know (which admittedly is neither a lot nor diverse), everyone is either: 1.) talking about going to Japan, 2.) already booked a trip to Japan, 3.) just returned from Japan, 4.) or knows someone that is either one of the three just menationed. Most cite the amazing culture ...

Re: I am Mista Bobbu-San!
Speaking of which....it'll be Cherry Blossom Festival again in a couple of months. I need to rewatch this portion of the movie because I'm pretty sure Mr. Bob Harris is not wearing jeans in that outfit. And hopefully I get recognized this year and can sign some autographs, ha ha ha!

Re: Park Hyatt Tokyo - Renovation
I subscribe to a Monocle magazine and in my most recent issue there is an article about the Park Hyatt Tokyo including some history and stories and how it was closed this year for a major renovation job, reopening again late 2025. Included in the article are some fantastic photos. Due to the relati...

Re: I am Mista Bobbu-San!
Ha ha...Thanks! I found the orange cammo shirt on Amazon last year. I recently checked to see if I can get a few more but they no longer have it (in this specific style, with the black collar, etc. I was at the Cherry Blossom Festival for two days and was sadly disappointed not a single person recog...

I am Mista Bobbu-San!
These past two weekends San Francisco Japantown held its annual Cherry Blossom Festival. It's the biggest event of the year for Japantown. Althought it doesn't have anything to do with cherry blossoms, many people go dressed in cosplay. I went dressed as....yep, you gues it, Mr. Bob Harris!!

Oh, traveling before smartphones/iphones...yes, these devices make traveling so much more convenient and easy now, but there definitely is some nostalgia over the old way of doing things. Also...physically going to the mall for my Christmas shopping! ha ha ha.

I did... and still do have this wonderful friend. I'm in a marriage and raising kids in the meantime, he's still single. Who knows maybe one day. Intellectually, which seems to be the most important, he remains unparalleled to me. http://www.weareawake.org/litforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1021&p=9679#p...

Re: Park Hyatt Room Number?
Hi all! Well, as life does, several things have gotten in the way of making this work for the 20th anniversary. I have a new goal, and that will be to make it for the 25th anniversary. A trip like this may very well be a once in a lifetime event, and I want to make sure I can do it “right”, and at ...

Re: Happy 20th Anniversary LIT!!
Great! Thanks for remembering and posting! Regarding the Suntory/Keanu reference , I should mention that Keanu Reeves has always had a tie-in with LiT because he co-starred with Kelly in Midnight Velocity in the LiT story. He never makes a physical appearance but is mentioned in the script and is pl...

I don't know how many of you have or use Netflix, but my experience has been that the "really good" movies tend not to be on there and they really are pushing more original content than anything else. On to of that, the same mediocre movies they push are listed in multiple categories. But recently L...
